Established in 1953, The Fur-Bearers is a registered Canadian charity. Their full legal name is The Association for the Protection of Fur-Bearing Animals. The purposes of the Society are to protect the environment by preserving urban and rural ecosystems and the wildlife therein; to advance education and to uphold the administration and enforcement of animal welfare laws.
