CEI was interviewed by various news outlets such as CTV and local Cochrane outfit The Cochrane Eagle, regarding our take on the Orphaned Black Bear Protocol. With the incident of two orphaned black bear cubs in our area, we offered our stance and opinion on the current policy regarding their welfare.

CEI receives a grant from the Cochrane Foundation and Calgary Foundation! (2023)

We have another super exciting announcement and opportunity we have to share! We are the lucky recipients of both the Community Grant from the Calgary Foundation (https://calgaryfoundation.org/)  and the Community Capital Grant from the Cochrane Foundation (https://cochranefoundation.ca/) for our "Going Batty- A Learning Experience that takes Action to make a difference for the declining numbers of Bats" project!

This project will focus on the research, education and successful action to help bats in southern Alberta. Our findings will be shared with other organizations on a local, provincial, and national level! 

We are participating in the Alberta Community Bat Program! (2023)

We will be collecting, recording, and surveying local bats in our area to provide (ACBP) information for their research!
